FAQ

QCDD Electrical Exam – Self Learning Package (SLP) FAQ

Applications are made through your company PRO by submitting a Letter of Intent, UPDA certificate, attested experience, CV, QID, proof of address, and company details.

You need an Electrical Engineering degree, UPDA Grade A/B/C, minimum 2 years’ experience in FDAS, Emergency Lighting or EPSS, and employment in a QCDD-registered company.

Consultant companies nominate engineers for QCDD approval to design and supervise electrical fire safety systems.

Contracting companies nominate engineers for QCDD approval to handle execution, installation, and maintenance of electrical fire systems.

No. Only QCDD-registered consultant or contracting companies can apply on behalf of engineers

Usually within 5–10 working days after submission of required documents by your PRO.

Two attempts are allowed. If you fail, a re-exam is possible after one month. A third attempt may be considered only with QCDD officer approval.

The exam is computer-based, open-book, includes 25–40 multiple-choice questions, lasts 90 minutes to 2 hours, and requires 70% to pass.

Standards include NFPA 70, 72, 101, 110, 2001, and other QCDD-approved regulations for electrical fire safety systems.

You must wait one month before re-applying through your company PRO. Further attempts require QCDD approval.
